Youth Programs

The programs below are open to all youth who are looking to feel more empowered and supported within their schools and communities. These curriculum-based groups are partnerships between the NWC and other local Chicago organizations.

Teen REACH

Are you looking to get more involved in your community? Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring & Hope) provides a safe, positive, consistent space for students grades 8-12 to grow together as students and leaders. Teens receive academic and emotional support, and develop meaningful friendships within the community.

Recruitment for the school year 2023-24 cohort is now closed, but fill out our interest form below to learn about future cohort openings.

Sustainable Community Schools Initiative

The Sustainable Community Schools Initiative (SCS) brings arts, recreation, music, and mentorship activities to Steinmetz College Prep High School.

We are also challenging the education institution to transform and be more culturally relevant, anti-racist, and equitable, and provide a whole-child approach that offers wrap-around supports, restorative justice, and authentic parent and community engagement. We build on community wisdom and seek to develop a vast network of relationships to strengthen our school community as a resource for everyone, with our students' and their families' well-being as the top priority. We do this via transparent and inclusive leadership with our SCS Leadership Team, which is comprised of representatives of all stakeholder groups: Teachers, administrators, students, parents, and community members.

If you're a student looking to explore your passion around fitness, music, photography, art, computer gaming, social justice, and much more, or a Parent/community member looking to get involved in our bustling Parent University, please reach out below. SCS is open to all Chicago Public School students.
